Please, forgive me if this sounds

I hated teaching piano,
so I tried designing web
sites...
I know how scary this might be to someone who has never
tried it before. In fact, I know it too well. Only 7 years ago
I was teaching piano to my students, and just could not imagine doing
anything else in my life, especially working with computers. After

If you can type, you can make a web page!
This seemed like another
challenge to me, until someone suggested I use Netscape Composer to create
my web page. I tried it. I designed my school web page in 3
hours. I LOVED IT!
The reason it was suddenly so
simple is because Netscape Composer looked exactly like Microsoft Word I
learned in class. Same toolbars, same menus, same interface.
If you think that the first page
I designed was extremely simple - YOU ARE RIGHT. IT WAS! But if you
think that your business page should not be simple, and has to use some
fancy technology and tricks - YOU ARE VERY WRONG! The best selling pages are those

of the other web editors. But Netscape Composer can be downloaded
free along with Netscape Communicator - popular Internet browser. And
if you get this interactive manual on a CD - Netscape Composer will come
with it, so you won't have to wait for it to download.
Text editor - you already have it! If you own a Windows
system, then Notepad or Word Pad can be used to modify your web
pages. If you work with a Macintosh, then Simple Text or Page Spinner
will work perfectly.
Finally, FTP, the magic tool that makes your web site
visible to anyone in the world! WS_FTP is my choice, but there are
many more others available - also completely FREE.
Of course, you
will need a graphics program to design your own images. But, believe
me, the Internet world has been extremely generous to web designers.
