have gotten a HUGELY positive response to the Million dollar bills.
Generally, we use the bills in an open silver briefcase out in
front on a table at our expo space at a conference and that's
just the eye-catcher….most are totally surprised when they
see that it's full of million dollar bills….
I am just glad that I am the first in my industry (Maintenance
and Reliability) to have this powerful little piece of marketing!
I am able to open up dialogue in nearly any situation in under
30 seconds I can usually get a smile which is pretty disarming
for most of the men nearly immediately. Our business offers a
business case for reliability that can actually save global manufacturers
multi-millions in down-time costs and so this handy little million,
is a quick reminder that we aren't kidding and that it is "tangible"…..well,
in a way!
It is hard
to say exactly how many people we've touched with the millions
- we've ordered somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 and I
just ordered more! Interestingly, in May at a conference in Knoxville,
TN (We had never been to this conference with the millions) a
man asked if he could exchange his and I thought at first he was
another quack wanting to "cash it in for face value"
but he pulled out his wallet and produced OUR customized million
dollar bill - tattered and worn, probably washed in the washer
and clearly handled many many times!
He said
he's carried it in his wallet over a year and shown it to everybody.
Well, that was a WOW moment for me! How many people he shown
it to? That I'll never know, but I'm sure it wasn't just his wife
and kids and a few friends over a drink at dinner or a poker game!
I would bet a million that he's shown it to his co-workers, his
boss or his peers - the very one's I'm trying to meet! So, in
a sense I've already made an impression! By the way, that bill
is signed by the gentleman and tacked proudly on my tack board
in my office as proof that the MILLION DOLLAR Bills work! Thanks
